ABOUT INNOVATIVE TRAINING ACADEMY
Innovative Training Academy (I.T.A.) has been a Black-owned and operated business since its founding in 2013. From the beginning, I.T.A. has prioritized giving back to underrepresented youth and its local community. Examples of this contribution include partnering with former MLB player Jemile Weeks and his organization, WeFam LLC, to organize and operate two free youth baseball clinics annually for the North Oakland/South Oakland Little League; organizing and operating “Little League Spring Training” for NOLL/SOLL; hosting a free clinic each October for local youth and bringing in former MLB players as coaches; and organizing and hosting numerous strength and conditioning camps throughout the year. I.T.A. is also active in the community with its fitness clients. In 2018 and 2019, they participated in the Tough Mudder competitions and also host summertime BBQs at the gym.
I.T.A., led by its founder Archie Gilbert, is committed to growing its mentorship and service presence in the local community as it expands its operations. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Archie has seen first-hand how much of an impact quality leadership and access to athletic resources can have on underrepresented youth.
Having been honored by the Emeryville Award Program as the best gym in the city in 2018, 2019 and 2020 for its outstanding operations, I.T.A. will continue to serve as an example of excellence and provide much-needed leadership in its local community.
